The classic snake game, originally popularized on old mobile phones and arcade systems, has been recreated multiple times inside Microsoft Excel. In these versions, the spreadsheet cells act like pixels or tiles on a game board.

Players control a growing snake that moves around the worksheet collecting food while avoiding collisions with walls or its own tail. The movement is usually powered by VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Excel’s built-in scripting language.

What makes this impressive is not the complexity of the game itself, but the fact that it works inside spreadsheet software that was never designed for gaming.
