SLOVAKIA
Záhrada (transl. Garden) is a cultural and community space for artists, citizens, cultural workers, and other visitors. It has a venue for annual program (dance, theatre, concerts), artist residencies, discussions, workshops as well as for free time activities in the adjacent garden. The mission of the cultural centre is to promote contemporary art presentation and production, to support creation of artistic works in urban and rural context, to educate young people and audience, and promote principles of civil society. It cooperates with other local and international companies and artistic initiatives, and is accredited for European Voluntary Service program. It hosts SKOK! Association for Contemporary Dance and Physical Theatre, and Theatre from the Passage – professional community-based theatre in Slovakia for people with special needs. It closely cooperates with the Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.
