Elisa Campisi - playwright My approach to the theatre started as an actress in Sicily when I was a teenager and after getting graduated in History of the Theatre at the University of Turin. The starting point of my dissertation was a remarkable project I experienced for two months in Madagascar where I arranged several theatre activities involving young amateurs from poor villages. In addition, I worked on other projects always related to social issues. My educational background includes a writing course that raised my interest and let me realize how much I was fond of it. This course was based on analyzing historical figures who played an important role for the Italian history in the second half of XIX century and during this period I wrote some plays. They were acted to celebrate the 150th anniversary since the Unity of Italy. Now, I’m attending the third year of the writing course at Paolo Grassi Academy in Milan.
